The Swiss NL team SCL Tigers lost Finnish forward Aleksi Saarela in June, whose contract with the team would have been valid until spring 2027. Saarela’s contract was recently terminated as he had to return to Finland due to military service.

Saarela, 28, will play in the Finnish Liiga next season. TPS has signed a contract with Saarela for the upcoming season.

SCL Tigers has found a new addition to their team to replace Saarela. The team has signed a one-year contract with Swedish forward André Petersson.

Petersson, 34, has played the last three seasons in the SHL with HV71. Last season, he recorded 24 points (14+10=24) in 40 regular-season games and 6 points (5+1) in six playoff games.

Throughout his career, Petersson has played one NHL game with the Ottawa Senators. He also has 142 AHL games, 326 KHL games, and 194 SHL games under his belt. Petersson represented Sweden at the World Championships in spring 2023.
