HIFK’s previously signed center Logan Brown continues his career with HC Ajoie, which plays in the Swiss top league.

The 28-year-old Brown’s new contract covers the remainder of the season and includes an option for the 2026–27 season.

Brown had recently been strongly linked to HIFK. According to Urheilucast, the sports director of the Helsinki club, Janne Laukkasen, had previously held talks in early October with Brown and another former NHL forward, Rem Pitlick.

According to Urheilucast, HIFK’s interest was particularly focused on Pitlick from the duo.

Brown’s move to Switzerland also means that one of HIFK’s potential reinforcements is now off the market.

Nearly a hundred NHL games behind

Brown is a first-round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators from 2016. Ottawa selected the tall center as the 11th player in the entire draft.

Nearly two meters tall and weighing 103 kilograms, Brown has played 99 regular-season games in the NHL for the Ottawa Senators and St. Louis Blues, collecting 26 points in those games.

Brown has spent most of his professional career in the AHL. Last season, he represented the Los Angeles Kings’ farm team, the Ontario Reign, where he scored 16 points in 31 games.

Brown will become Ajoie’s seventh foreign reinforcement. There are already five Finns playing for HC Ajoie: Kristian Tanus, Julius Nättinen, Jerry Turkulainen, and the defenseman brothers Julius and Anttoni Honka. The team’s head coach is Ville Peltonen.
