Tough acquisition from Mestis club – acquired the most valuable player of the playoffs from Jokers
Joensuu Kiekko-Pojat strengthens its offense in Mestis with the high-performing Oliver Suni. The 24-year-old, moving from Jokers, has a contract that extends until spring 2028.
Kiekko-Pojat gains a two-time Mestis champion who has risen to be among the top names in the league in recent years. In spring 2025, Suni led Jokers to the championship by scoring 10+9=19 points in 13 playoff games. He was awarded the most valuable player of the playoffs.
Last season, the forward also made a strong impact. In the regular season, he scored 18+31=49 points in 42 games. Suni was selected to the Mestis All-Star team at the end of the season.
This season, Suni started at Kiekko-Vantaa, where he played seven games on loan from Jokers, with stats of 0+6. In the league, the forward did not receive any responsibility in any game.
Jokers and Suni terminated their player contract earlier on Thursday.
