NHL Results for the 2024-2025 Season

NHL Broadcasting – Viaplay & MTV Sub

In the 2024-25 season, the broadcasting rights for the NHL in Finland are owned by Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group), which includes the streaming service Viaplay and V premium’s pay channels.

V premium broadcasts NHL games live on its V sport channels. From Viaplay’s streaming service, you can watch all NHL games of the 2024-25 season live or on demand for up to 48 hours.

The Viaplay Total package costs 44.99 euros per month. The V premium channel package costs between 37.95 and 44.95 euros per month, depending on the service provider. The V premium channel package can be purchased through Elisa, Telia, or DNA.

MTV Sub

In addition to Viaplay, the MTV Sub channel and the paid streaming service MTV Katsomo will show one game live each week throughout the season. Previously, NHL games were also available through Yle, but Yle’s NHL rights ended after the 2022-23 season.

Commentators

In the 2024-25 season, NHL games on Viaplay will be commented by Antti Mäkinen, Tero Kainulainen, Velja Engström, and Nuutti Vihtilä. On MTV, the commentators will be Jani Alkio, Sebastian Waheeb, and Julius Sorjonen.

NHL Draft 2024

The 2024 NHL Draft was held at the Sphere in Las Vegas on June 28-29.

First, the San Jose Sharks selected the highly anticipated Canadian Macklin Celebrini. With the second pick, the Chicago Blackhawks took Belarusian Artjom Levshunov, and with the third pick, the Anaheim Ducks selected Canadian Beckett Sennecke.

A total of 17 Finns were drafted. The first Finnish player called was Konsta Helenius, who was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres at number 14.

NHL Draft 2023

In 2023, the NHL Draft was held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on June 29, Finnish time.

First, the Chicago Blackhawks selected Canadian center Connor Bedard. The Anaheim Ducks selected Swedish Leo Carlsson second, and the Columbus Blue Jackets selected Canadian Adam Fantilli third.

A total of 15 Finnish players were drafted. The first player selected was forward Kasper Halttunen, who was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the second round at pick #36.
