HC Lugano has signed a one-year extension with Finnish forward Aleksi Peltonen.

Peltonen is currently playing his third season in Lugano. In the current season, the 178 cm tall forward has recorded 5+6=11 points in 49 games in the National League regular season.

In total, the Finn has played 117 regular season games in the National League, scoring 6+10=16 points.

The 27-year-old forward is part of a well-known hockey family: his father is the Lions legend Ville Peltonen.

This season, the roster of Lugano, which finished fifth in the regular season, includes several Finnish names. In addition to Aleksi, his brother, defender Jesper Peltonen, is also playing for the team.

Adding to the Finnish presence in the team is forward Rasmus Kupari, who returned to Europe this season from the Winnipeg Jets. Due to injury, Kupari has only played in seven regular season games this season.
