Detroit announced a major statement regarding the trade request submitted by Dylan Larkin!
Detroit Red Wings announces that the superstar Dylan Larkin, who submitted a trade request this summer, intends to participate in the team’s training camp this fall.
At the same time, the team states that Larkin, who previously served as the team’s captain, will no longer continue as Detroit’s captain. The Red Wings will not name a new captain at this time, so they will enter the new season without a captain.
In its statement, the Red Wings also note that discussions about Larkin’s future will be held privately once a new GM has been appointed to the team. The Red Wings do not intend to comment further on the matter.
It has been reported that Larkin has accepted trades only to the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, and Dallas Stars during the summer. Detroit has reached an impasse with Larkin, as it has not received a satisfactory offer for him.
Larkin, 30, has played his entire NHL career, spanning 11 seasons, in Detroit. He served as the team’s captain for the last six seasons. Last season, Larkin recorded 67 points in 74 games with 34 goals and 33 assists.
Larkin’s contract, which guarantees an annual salary of $8.7 million, is valid until 2030.
