Over 1,100 NHL games Jeff Skinner has found a new team!
Experienced NHL forward Jeff Skinner, 34, is moving to the Swiss top league next season. He has signed a one-year contract with EHC Biel-Bienne.
Last season, Skinner represented the San Jose Sharks in the NHL, where he played 32 games with a total of 6+7=13 points. However, Skinner’s contract was terminated in February, and he did not play anywhere for the rest of the season.
In the NHL, Skinner has played a total of 1,110 regular season games with 379+333=712 points, but he has only played five playoff games with 1+1 points. Skinner has spent the longest time representing the Carolina Hurricanes, and he has also played for the Buffalo Sabres and the Edmonton Oilers.
Originally, Skinner was the seventh overall pick in the first round by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2010. In his best season, he scored 82 points while playing for Buffalo.
– From Jeff, we get a player with a wealth of experience and proven offensive skills. He has played at a high level for several years and has shown he can score goals and take responsibility in the offensive zone. We are very pleased that he chose Biel, the club’s GM Martin Steinegger commented in a statement.
Skinner will arrive in Biel at the end of August due to the ongoing work permit process.
