Pekka Jormakka: new team revealed – special condition in the contract
The league’s long-time forward Pekka Jormakka continues his career at a surprising location. The experienced Finnish forward joins HKM Zvolen, which plays in the top league of Slovakia.
According to Zvolen’s announcement, Jormakka’s contract includes a two-week trial period.
The decision is interesting from a Finnish perspective, as Jormakka was also linked to Liiga clubs during the summer. The forward was reportedly an option for teams like Jokerit, but ultimately a new address was found in Slovakia.
Zvolen had to react quickly to its injury situation. Sean Josling was injured in the team’s last practice match. In the same match, the team’s captain Marek Ďaloga sustained an upper body injury.
The JYP product has played for several European teams during his career. Most recently, he represented his youth club JYP.
The Finnish national team has also become familiar to Jormakka. He has played over 20 international matches and won silver at the World Championships in 2014.
