The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, playing in the Swiss top league, announces that they have signed a comprehensive contract for the upcoming season with former NHL forward Kevin Labanc.

Labanc, 30, played last season in the KHL with the Shanghai Dragons. He recorded 34 points in 55 games with the team, scoring 15 goals and providing 19 assists.

Before last season, Labanc spent nine seasons in the NHL, with the first eight playing for the San Jose Sharks from 2016 to 2024. His most recent NHL season in 2024-25 was with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In his NHL career, Labanc has played 512 regular season games (84+153=237) and 30 playoff games (5+9=14). In his best NHL season, he tallied 56 points in 82 games, scoring 17 goals and assisting on 39.

Labanc represented the United States in the 2021 World Championship, where he won a bronze medal with the team.
