Canadian defenseman Colin Miller is leaving the NHL rinks behind and moving to Switzerland, reports the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung. According to the paper, Miller is close to signing with Lausanne HC.
Miller, 33, represented the Winnipeg Jets in the NHL last season, where he played only 18 games with a total of 0+2 points. Miller’s contract expired at the end of the last season.
In his NHL career, Miller has played 590 regular season games (43+140=183) and 45 playoff games (4+11=15). In addition to Winnipeg, he has also represented the New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars, Buffalo Sabres, Vegas Golden Knights, and Boston Bruins.
In his best NHL season, Miller recorded 41 points in 82 games. That happened with the Vegas team during the 2017-18 season.
Miller won gold with Team Canada at the World Championships in 2021.
