The traded sniper scored big in the NHL – significant salary increase
The New Jersey Devils have signed a five-year extension with the forward Luke Evangelista, 24, whom they acquired a couple of weeks ago. The contract guarantees Evangelista $7.25 million in annual earnings, making the total value of the contract $36.25 million.
Evangelista’s current contract is still valid for the upcoming season. He will earn another three million dollars in the upcoming season, so with the new contract, he will receive a significant pay raise. The new contract runs through the summer of 2032.
The Devils acquired Evangelista two weeks ago from the Nashville Predators in exchange for two draft picks. Evangelista was originally Nashville’s 2nd round pick in 2020 and has played for the team for the last four seasons.
Last season, Evangelista recorded a career-high in the NHL. In 81 games, he scored 12+44=56 points.
