The Swiss Association strengthens – nets a man with over 600 NHL games
Forward Curtis Lazar, 31, leaves the NHL rinks behind and heads to Switzerland. Lausanne HC announces on their website that they have signed a one-year contract with Lazar.
Last season, Lazar represented the Edmonton Oilers. He scored 4+2 points in 45 regular season games. In the playoffs, Lazar played five games without any points.
In his NHL career, Lazar has played a total of 617 regular season games (51+80=131) and 35 playoff games (2+1). In addition to Edmonton, he has represented the Ottawa Senators, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, and New Jersey Devils.
Lazar was originally the Senators’ first-round 17th overall pick in 2013.
Lausanne opened their season in Switzerland this past Tuesday and suffered a harsh 0-5 defeat at home against EV Zug. The Finnish players representing the team are Ahti Oksanen and Antti Suomela.
