Urheilucast: Jokerit is selling its four stars – set its sights on the league’s top scorer
Helsinki’s Jokerit is preparing to trade several of its star players in case the team’s poor performances continue after the EHT break.
This is claimed by Urheilucast’s Esko Seppänen, who states that the office of the team is already preparing for player trades.
– The players being offered are Maxime Fortier, Matt Caito, and Valtteri Pulli, Seppänen asserts and continues:
– According to Urheilucast’s information, this is not all; Jokerit is also receiving calls about center Henri Nikkanen, and at least one of the bottom teams in the SHL is already kicking the tires. It may be that Nikkanen will be let go in the coming moments, Seppänen continues.
There may also be traffic in the other direction regarding next season, provided that Jokerit remains in the A-series.
According to Seppänen, Jokerit has shown interest in the league’s reigning goal king, JYP’s Valtteri Ojantakanen.
– Ojantakanen is on the radar of both Jokerit and Kärpät. Ojantakanen is on pace for 38 goals. I heard from a source at Urheilucast that Ojantakanen would have no objections to playing for Jokerit. Playing for Jokerit would even be a dream or aspiration for Ojantakanen, Seppänen continues.
However, Ojantakanen’s most likely destination, if his current form continues, will be in one of Europe’s top leagues next season.
