Urheilucast: The Golden Lion’s lucrative NHL offer is on the table – an incredible reason behind it
NHL’s Finnish role player Joel Kiviranta returns to the Dallas Stars for the next season after spending three seasons with the Colorado Avalanche in between.
The 30-year-old World Championship gold medalist signed a one-year, million-dollar contract with the Stars on the second day of free agency.
According to Urheilucast, Kiviranta had a significantly more lucrative offer on the table than the Stars. However, the deal fell through in a puzzling manner.
– This requires special consideration. We haven’t heard this yet, namely the Vegas Golden Knights offered Kiviranta a significantly better financial deal than Dallas. But this particular guy was not found in time to respond to the offer, says Esko Seppänen, host of Urheilucast.
– According to Urheilucast, the Vegas offer was 1.6 million dollars, pretty much on the same terms and tax basis.
Kiviranta played 51 regular season games last season, with stats of 3+6=9. Throughout his career, the forward has scored 69 points with 38 goals and 31 assists in 349 regular season games.
