New information about Aleksander Barkov – a big difference from the previous assessment!
Aleksander Barkov‘s absence duration has received a new estimate, which significantly differs from the forecast previously made public.
The Panthers’ head coach Paul Maurice told the press on Tuesday that Barkov is expected to be out for 6–8 weeks. The lower body injury is being rehabilitated without surgery.
– That is our best estimate. It could take a little less or a little more time, Maurice said.
Previously, reporter Armando Velez had estimated the absence would last 10–12 weeks. At that time, Maurice denied that the recovery timeline was clear yet. Now, the estimate given by the head coach is clearly shorter than the previous forecast.
Barkov was injured last Thursday against the San Jose Sharks after falling on his leg during a corner battle. He had to leave the game midway through the second period.
