High-flying Sebastian Aho racked up monstrous stats – “Call the fire department, he’s on fire”
Sebastian Aho continued his impressive start to the season in the NHL during the game on Wednesday night, as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Eastern Conference powerhouse Montreal Canadiens 6–4 on the road.
Last spring, Aho received criticism for his slow scoring pace in the playoffs, but he recorded 1+2 against Montreal. The Finnish player’s point total for the last two games now stands at 3+3. In four games this season, Aho has accumulated 4+3=7 points.
Against Montreal, Aho was responsible for Carolina’s equalizer at 3–3 on the power play. Nikolaj Ehlers‘s pass found the Finn, who finished a direct attack with a cool finish.
– Call the fire department, he is on fire, one follower commented on Aho’s scorching form on the messaging service X.
Aho is now fifth in the NHL scoring race, just two points behind Connor McDavid.
The NHL’s first overall pick from last summer, Gavin McKenna, finally opened his scoring account in the big league. The 18-year-old super prospect, playing his fourth NHL game, recorded 1+1 as the Toronto Maple Leafs secured a 5–4 overtime victory against the Nashville Predators.
In the future superstar’s first NHL goal, there was also a Finnish touch, as the Canadian teenager opened his scoring in the big league behind Juuse Saros.
