The triple penalty king of Mestis Lauri Heino, 28, is making a comeback to Finland’s second-highest league.

The 187-centimeter forward, who has played three Liiga games and 239 regular season games in Mestis, has signed a contract with Joensuu Kiekko-Pojat that is valid until further notice.

– Lauri brings more attitude and toughness to the team. He is a great team player, loved by his own and feared by opponents. In his role, he is one of the best players in the league, commented Kiekko-Pojat’s manager Jaakko Lipponen in the club’s press release.

Heino represented Hungarian Ferencvaros last season, where the forward scored 16 points with 6 goals and 10 assists in 20 games.

Having already represented Kiekko-Pojat in the 2020-21 season, Heino played for RoKi from 2021 to 2024, where he collected well over 100 penalty minutes each season.
