The captain of the USA praised Finland highly – revealed he is concerned about the spread of the disease.
MILANO. The United States taught Finland a lesson in women’s ice hockey on Saturday. The USA was clearly better in the match and scored a crushing 5-0 victory.
Not long ago, the entire match was in danger of becoming a farce, as the Finnish team was hit by a norovirus outbreak. In the end, the Women’s Lions managed to assemble a full roster and the match could be played normally.
– The Finnish team is really dynamic. They are great competitors. I would never want to see them struggling with illness, U.S. captain Hilary Knight commented after the game.
– The way they fought their way to this match was incredible. Finland is a tough nut, especially in international games. I’m really glad we got to play the game.
Knight also admitted to being concerned about the virus spreading. On Friday night, Switzerland reported a case of norovirus.
– Absolutely. We rely on healthcare professionals. We wash our hands, keep our distance, and try to stay healthy, Knight said.
