IIHF: huge news!
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) announces that long-time president Luc Tardif will not seek re-election for his position. Tardif will continue in his role until October, until the end of the current season.
– As the IIHF is in a strong and stable position, I feel that now is the right time to hand over the baton to a younger leader, Tardif said in the statement.
Tardif has been involved in international ice hockey for over 25 years and was elected president of the federation in 2021.
According to the IIHF, Tardif will continue to oversee ongoing development projects and preparations for upcoming events, such as the World Championships and the 2030 Winter Olympics.
