Detroit Red Wings star forward Dylan Larkin’s anticipation regarding the impending trade has turned into open pressure.

According to information released on Thursday, the American requesting the trade will no longer represent the Red Wings on the ice before the trade is finalized.

Larkin’s agent Pat Brisson elaborated on the background of the decision in a statement released on Thursday.

– Dylan has had enough of the situation. We believe he has been very professional and cooperative during this process, Brisson said.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the initiative to step aside came from Larkin himself. The team learned of the decision on Wednesday evening.

Brisson traveled earlier this week to meet with his client in Detroit. According to Friedman, the decision was made during the face-to-face meeting.

Larkin has continued to play despite his trade request made this summer, but now the star center wants a quick resolution to the situation. First, he will miss the game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night.

However, Detroit is not ready to trade the forward at any price. According to Friedman, the team is holding firm on its high trade request.

The 30-year-old Larkin has recorded 2+4=6 points in ten games this season. His contract has an average annual salary of $8.7 million.
