Konsta Helenius has bad news – NHL team made its decision
Buffalo Sabres’ Finnish forward Konsta Helenius, 20, will be sidelined due to an injury in the NHL.
Sabres announced on Thursday that Helenius has sustained an upper body injury. The Finnish forward’s road trip has ended prematurely as he is being sent back to Buffalo for further evaluation.
Helenius was injured during Tuesday’s game against the San Jose Sharks. Sharks defenseman Jacob Trouba hit the Finnish prospect hard in an open-ice tackle.
Despite the hit, Helenius was able to continue playing. However, his ice time was limited towards the end of the game.
Due to his injury, Helenius was absent from Buffalo’s game last night against the Anaheim Ducks. He will also miss the next matchup against the Los Angeles Kings.
It is still unclear how long Helenius’s absence will ultimately last.
Helenius has played 11 games in the NHL this season and has collected three points (1+2) in those games.
