The President of the United States Donald Trump has awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the United States Olympic team goalkeeper Connor Hellebuyck.
This honor is in a league of its own. The Medal of Freedom is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a civilian.
The medal is designed to be awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution either to the national security of the United States, to world peace, or has achieved something culturally significant.
Hellebuyck was the biggest star of the United States Olympic team. In the final match against Canada, he stopped 42 shots.
