Teemu Pulkkinen was selected for the Finnish national team – this is what it’s about
The highly criticized decision to remain in the KHL has led Teemu Pulkkinen to represent Finland in a 3vs3 format at the national team tournament to be held in Northern Ireland in July.
Pulkkinen has faced the wrath of Finns for staying to play in Russia’s KHL for years, even after the country launched its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
However, he has now been selected for the team coached by Raimo Helminen, which features familiar names from the Liiga, including Kristian Tanus, Anton Levtchi, Teemu Kivihalme, and Oskari Laaksonen, who plays in the SHL.
The 3ICE tournament will include a total of eight countries: host nation Britain, Finland, the United States, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. The tournament will take place on July 4-5.
