Surprising NHL twist: The Lions’ forward emerged as an option for the Edmonton Oilers
Eeli Tolvanen has emerged as a potential option for the Edmonton Oilers’ lineup.
Edmonton Journal reporter David Staples highlights the Finnish winger who played for the Seattle Kraken last season as a possible acquisition for the Oilers. In addition to Tolvanen, Staples mentions Philipp Kurashev as an option.
However, Staples assesses that Kurashev is a more likely option than Tolvanen. Kurashev is already familiar to Oilers GM Stan Bowman, who drafted the Swiss player when he was with the Chicago Blackhawks. Additionally, Kurashev is capable of playing as a center.
– If the price is right, I see Bowman targeting either Tolvanen or Kurashev, Staples writes.
Regarding Tolvanen, Staples highlights the Finnish player’s physicality. He played 78 regular-season games with the Seattle Kraken last season and recorded 36 points, including 12 goals and 24 assists.
Tolvanen’s representatives have indicated that the Finnish player has had discussions with several NHL teams. According to Pacific North Hockey Rob Simpson, however, the Seattle Kraken is no longer one of the options interested in the Lions’ Olympic forward.
