Ässät strengthens with Canadian goal scorer – “A skilled player in the offensive direction”
Pori Ässät and Alexandre Doucet have signed a one-year contract. The 24-year-old Canadian forward played last season for AHL team Grand Rapids Griffins, appearing in 52 regular season games with stats of 8+6=14.
The 183-centimeter Doucet was known during his junior years in the QMJHL as a true point scorer. The forward scored 108 goals and 247 points in 240 games played in the Quebec junior league.
Ässät’s sports director Jarno Kultanen is pleased that the Canadian has chosen Ässät as his team for the upcoming season.
– Doucet is a skilled player in the offensive direction, who finds space to create plays for others and himself.
– He scored an exceptional number of goals at the junior level, which indicates not only his goal-scoring ability but also the player’s good game sense, Kultanen states in the club’s press release.
Doucet has played 116 games in the AHL with stats of 15+20=35.
