The Lions return to Helsinki – the EHT home tournament has a new name
The Euro Hockey Tour home tournament hosted by the Lions returns to Helsinki this upcoming season.
The Finnish Ice Hockey Association announced on Thursday that the tournament, taking place from November 5 to 8, will be held at the Veikkaus Arena. The last time EHT countries faced off in Ilmala was in 2021. In recent years, the Finnish tournament has been held in Tampere.
At the same time, the event will receive a new name. The Finnish EHT tournament, long known as the Karjala Tournament, will henceforth be called the Nocco Hockey Games.
As usual, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland will also participate alongside Finland.
The Lions will open their tournament on Thursday, November 5, with a match against Switzerland. On Saturday, they will face the Czech Republic.
The tournament will culminate on Sunday with the Father’s Day classic, as Finland and Sweden clash.
