Finnish goalie Sami Aittokallio, 33, continues his career abroad next season. He is moving to the Polish top league team Unia Oswiecim with a one-year contract.

Aittokallio played last season with the Scottish team Glasgow Clan. The team competes in the UK’s top league EIHL. Aittokallio recorded a save percentage of 91.5 in 30 regular season games and a save percentage of 96.0 in three playoff games.

In the Liiga, Aittokallio has represented Ilves, Kärpät, Sport, Ässät, and JYP in a total of 150 regular season games. He has also played two NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche in his career.

While playing abroad, Aittokallio has recently saved pucks in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Slovakia. He won the Slovak championship in 2024 with HK Nitra.

Aittokallio will have several Finnish teammates in his new club. At this stage, the team has signed for next season Aleksi Mäkelä, Kalle Valtola, Jere Jokinen, Otto Nieminen, and Mika Partanen. The head coach for the next season will be Markus Juurikkala.
