Mikael Granlund had to go to the locker room during the bronze medal match – reported on his situation
MILANO.
Mikael Granlund faced tough moments in the closing moments of the Olympic bronze medal match.
Towards the end of the third period, Granlund was checked into the boards outside of the play. As a result, the captain of the Lions went to see a doctor in the locker room.
Granlund returned to the ice when Finland claimed the bronze medals. After the match, the Anaheim Ducks center spoke about his situation.
– We just went to check that everything is okay. Everything was okay, Granlund said.
From the Olympics, Granlund has now achieved two bronzes: 2014 and 2026.
– It’s been such a long time. The first thing that comes to mind is that 12 years ago was the last time I got to play in the Olympics. You don’t get these every day. When you get to take home a medal from here, it’s pretty sweet, Granlund said.
– Of course, in this tournament, it’s heavily on my mind that there was a chance to go all the way. But this time it was like this, and we are happy with the bronze medal.
