Leijonilla has a positive problem – this is how Antti Pennanen commented
ZÜRICH. The Lions’ games in the World Championships have started off strongly. Finland managed to secure routine victories against Germany and Hungary, as well as defeating the United States, thus practically ensuring their place among the two best teams in the group.
There is no weak link in the Lions’ lineup. All lines have found success in the form of goals.
Now the lines will change as Mikael Granlund joins the team. Possibly, Buffalo Sabres’ Konsta Helenius will also head to the World Championships.
However, the Lions’ head coach Antti Pennanen is not worried about having to change the lines and dropping well-performing players from the lineup.
– It’s never easy to take a player out, but the team is so committed that such changes are easier to make, Pennanen commented after the game against the United States.
The Lions will next face Latvia in the World Championships on Thursday. Pennanen could not yet say for sure whether Granlund will play against Latvia.
On Tuesday, Pennanen and the Lions team will have a day off. The head coach briefly commented on his own plans with a smile on his face.
– Let’s keep it a secret.
