The St. Louis Blues have placed forward Alexandre Texier on the trade list. The Blues aim to terminate the player’s NHL contract.

Texier’s two-year contract worth $4.2 million is set to expire at the end of this season. The French forward cleared waivers earlier this week.

The 26-year-old Texier has played only eight NHL games this season, with stats of 0+1. He has averaged just over 10 minutes of ice time per game.

In addition to the Blues, Texier has represented the Columbus Blue Jackets in the NHL. He has played 240 NHL games, recording 40+51=91 points.

Texier is a familiar name to Finns from the Liiga. He played 108 regular season games (27+36=63) and six playoff games (1+1=2) for KalPa from 2017 to 2019.

Will a new team be found soon?

TSN reporter Pierre LeBrun reported on X that at least nine NHL teams are interested in Texier.

According to LeBrun, Texier’s agent Dan Milstein is negotiating with two teams from the Eastern Conference on Sunday. One of these teams is the Montreal Canadiens.
