Source: Something is about to happen – NHL star forward close to a transfer!
Columbus Blue Jackets’ Russian scoring machine Kirill Marchenko is close to a transfer to a new team, reports RG. According to the site, Columbus is negotiating a trade involving Marchenko with another NHL team, which is expected to be finalized in the near future.
RG reports that Marchenko’s name has been linked to the Montreal Canadiens. The team is said to have been interested in Marchenko earlier this summer.
Marchenko, 26, scored 67 points (27 goals and 40 assists) in 76 games last season in Columbus, making him the team’s top scorer and second-best point producer. The season before, he finished with an impressive 31 goals and 74 points.
In four NHL seasons, Marchenko has recorded strong stats with 208 points (102 goals and 106 assists) in 292 games. His contract, which guarantees an annual salary of $3.85 million, is still valid for next season.
