Jokerit hints at a major announcement – fans believe the mystery has already been solved
The Jokerit announced on Monday on social media a video where the team hints at the announcement of a new player acquisition on Tuesday. The player’s identity is not revealed in the video, but many believe on social media that it is Teemu Turunen.
The suspicions have been heightened by the song “Stadi on mun hima taas” playing in the background of the video. Many fans think this could be an intentional hint, as Turunen is a Jokerit product from Helsinki.
The Swedish club Örebro announced last week that Turunen is leaving the club and returning to Finland. The forward’s collaboration with Örebro ends after one season for personal reasons.
– It’s really unfortunate that I have to leave now, as I had a desire to prove myself after last season. However, it is the only right decision for me and my family, Turunen said in a statement.
Turunen played 29 regular season games for Örebro last season in the SHL, scoring 7+7 points. In the playoffs, he recorded 0+2 points in three games.
Urheilucast reported last week that Jokerit and Kärpät are after Turunen.
Jokerit has not yet confirmed who the new player to be announced on Tuesday is.
