Cold ride for Young Lions
The Young Lions lost to the United States blue team in the World Junior Summer Showcase tournament on Monday evening. The final score was a harsh 1-5 for Finland.
Ethan Wyttenbach opened the scoring for the United States in the second period with two goals. The only goal for the Young Lions was scored by Eetu Orpana in the second period, narrowing the score to 1-2.
The United States added to their lead in the final period. Scoring were Brooks Rogowski, Jamie Glance, and Carter Sanderson.
The Young Lions won their opening match of the tournament by defeating the United States white team 4-1. The United States is now consolidating its two teams into one group, which Finland will face next. The match will be played on Wednesday at 22:00 Finnish time.
The Young Lions will also play against Canada and Sweden later in the tournament.
