HIFK is strengthening its offense with a player coming from North America, reports Urheilucast.

According to Urheilucast, HIFK has signed a contract with Canadian forward Jake Leschyshyn. The information about the contract was published in an Instagram story.

The 26-year-old Leschyshyn has spent the last few years primarily in the AHL. He has represented teams such as the Chicago Wolves, Henderson Silver Knights, Hartford Wolf Pack, and most recently the Rochester Americans.

The forward also has experience in the NHL. Leschyshyn has played a total of 77 NHL games with the Vegas Golden Knights and New York Rangers.

The contract is not yet intended to be officially announced. HIFK’s new GM Janne Laukkanen will start in his position on August 1, after which the club could inform about the matter.
