Columbus Blue Jackets’ star forward Adam Fantilli is still a restricted free agent without a contract. NHL reporter Aaron Portzline predicts that Fantilli is working on a massive extension.
According to Portzline, Fantilli’s new contract would be for five years. He estimates its annual value to be around 13-13.5 million dollars.
Portzline reports that negotiations between Columbus and Fantilli are expected to progress this week, as the team no longer has other restricted free agents. Columbus recently reached extensions with Jet Greaves and Cole Sillinger, who were heading towards arbitration.
Fantilli, 21, recorded 24+35=59 points in 82 games last season, making him Columbus’s third-highest scorer. Drafted third overall by Columbus in the 2023 draft, Fantilli has played 213 games over his three NHL seasons, scoring 67+73=140 points.
