Anton Lundell misbehaved in the NHL – now there is a penalty
Florida Panthers’ Anton Lundell has received a $5,000 fine from the NHL for his misconduct during the NHL games on the night before Friday.
The two-time Stanley Cup winner injured Montreal Canadiens’ Alexander Texier with a high stick during the teams’ matchup on the night before Friday. Texier is a familiar player for Liiga followers from KalPa, where the Frenchman played for two seasons from 2017 to 2019.
The fine does not significantly dent the 24-year-old Lundell’s wallet, as the center earns five million dollars per season from his contract that runs until 2030.
Selected for the Olympic team of the Lions, Lundell is currently having the most productive season of his career in the NHL. With Aleksander Barkov‘s injury, the player has stepped into a larger role in the Panthers’ offense, recording 31 points with 13 goals and 18 assists in 43 games.
Lundell’s previous point record is 45 points, which the forward achieved last season.
