JYP has signed a one-year contract with Swedish forward Arvid Costmar.

Costmar, 25, is moving to JYP from his home country, where he has played his entire career so far. Last season, Costmar played 29 SHL games with Djurgården, scoring 0+1 points, and five Allsvenskan games with Södertälje, scoring 2+0 points.

In his career, Costmar has played 203 SHL games with a total of 12+17=29 points. In addition to Djurgården, he has represented Linköping.

– Costmar is an energetic, reliable, and hardworking two-way forward. He is a versatile player who can play both center and winger. We believe he can take another step in his career at JYP and develop into an even more well-rounded player, JYP’s sports director Simo Mälkiä says in the club’s announcement.

Costmar is a 7th-round draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks from 2019. His trophy cabinet includes an under-18 world championship with Sweden in 2019, as well as an Allsvenskan championship and subsequent SHL promotion with Djurgården in the spring of 2025.
