Aatu Räty uploaded a direct assessment from Switzerland – "The best there has ever been"

ZÜRICH. The players of the Lions took the Tuesday night loss to Switzerland calmly. One of them was Aatu Räty, who praised one of the tournament’s pre-favorites.

– A really strong team. That’s good. All games need to be won. Let’s look at things from this game and then start preparing for the Czech Republic, Räty summarized the insights from the Switzerland loss looking ahead.

The Lions center also praised the atmosphere in the stands on Tuesday.

– Well, it was a completely different vibe. All the fans who came here today really made noise. It was an amazing atmosphere, probably the best atmosphere in a game I’ve ever experienced. A fantastic experience, summarized the 23-year-old Kärpät product playing in his first World Championship.

Räty admits that Switzerland was a completely different level of competition compared to previous opponents in the group stage.

– The level rose a lot. A top team, it was indeed a tough game. We are quite similar teams. We defend well, we want to play with the puck. Just like us, a very skilled team with many good players. We play in pretty much the same leagues in the NHL and Switzerland.

The Lions faced their upcoming quarterfinal opponent, the Czech Republic, in the final tournament of the EHT a couple of weeks ago. Naturally, the team plans to utilize this experience as they prepare for the tournament’s “do-or-die” game.

– We’ll watch the film of this game with the team and see what we can improve. We played against the Czech Republic a couple of weeks ago, so we will definitely look at those (videos) too.

For Räty, the first adult World Championships have been an unforgettable experience.

– Absolutely amazing. A lot of people in the stands, a fantastic vibe here with the Finnish team. It’s great to be a part of this, the articulate center concludes.

Räty’s World Championship has also gone excellently in terms of points so far. The young forward has accumulated 3+3 points in seven group stage matches.
