Olli Jokinen, who was fired from HIFK last week, emerged in a surprising context when Urheilucast host Esko Seppänen hinted at the Finnish coach’s possible move to Helsinki Jokers.

Seppänen highlighted Jokinen’s close relationships with the key figures of the Jokers. Jokinen and sports director Mikko Saarnio have a shared coaching history of ten years. Additionally, Jokers owner Heikki Viitikko once gave Jokinen his first opportunity as head coach at Jukurit.

– Saarnio and Viitikko’s good friend is available. He is also the statement that the Jokers need. He fits the Jokers as a turncoat. Think about that villain story, that enemy story, when he turns his coat.

However, Seppänen emphasized that he has no knowledge of Jokinen’s possible move. This is purely his own speculation.

– This is of course just a tin foil hat, guessing, and feeling. More like what I would like to see happen. Doesn’t this make sense? Olli Jokinen damn it to the Jokers? Just think about the next derby.

Jokinen’s next job is still open. Iltalehti reporter Timo Kunnari reported last week that the Swiss giant club Zürich Lions also sought Jokinen last summer, but he decided to continue with HIFK.
