Rumors began to circulate about Raimo Helmisen’s return to Ilves – two players reacted immediately!
The coaching situation for Ilves next season has taken an interesting turn.
Ilta-Sanomat reported on Monday that Ilves’ current head coach Tommi Niemelä is in advanced negotiations with HIFK. Niemelä’s contract with the Tampere club ends after this season.
Niemelä’s potential departure has brought Raimo Helmisen name into the spotlight as a candidate to succeed him at Ilves.
Ilta-Sanomat journalist Juha Hiitelä mentions on the Threads service that Helmisen’s possible return has sparked interest among former Ilves players as well.
– After our scoop yesterday about Niemelä going to HIFK, EVERYONE added 1+1 and Raipe to Ilves. At least two former Ilves players currently playing elsewhere have already expressed their willingness to return to Ilves if Raipe is the coach. That’s how it changes.
Hiitelä did not reveal the names of the players. There is also no confirmed information about Helmisen’s potential selection as the head coach of Ilves.
