Geneve-Servette will lose the services of Sakari Manninen, who started the season strongly, to injury for about six weeks. The length of absence for the Finnish center, who was injured in the Swiss league on Friday, was clarified after examinations.

According to the Swiss club’s statement, Manninen is dealing with a lower body injury.

The injury to the 34-year-old forward is a significant setback for Geneve-Servette. Manninen has recorded 5+5=10 points in nine regular season games this season.

A key player for the Lions, Manninen has won three world championships and one Olympic gold in his national team career.

Among the Finns in Geneva, Markus Granlund is also currently injured. He is suffering from an upper body injury, and the forward’s condition is being monitored day by day.

Despite the absences, Geneve-Servette defeated EV Zug on Sunday. The team was missing a total of 11 players, including Manninen and Granlund, as well as Jesse Puljujärvi, who is serving a suspension.
