Jesse Puljujärvi: amazing trick!
Jesse Puljujärvi scored a hat trick as Geneve-Servette defeated Kölner Haien 4–3 in overtime in the CHL on Wednesday. The Finn netted his team’s last three goals and ended Köln’s unbeaten CHL season.
Puljujärvi returned to the lineup after a suspension. The first goal of his comeback match came just at the end of the second period when he equalized the game to 2–2.
In the third period, Puljujärvi succeeded in a penalty shot and put Geneve-Servette ahead just over five minutes before the end. Köln managed to equalize again, but the decision came quickly in overtime.
Puljujärvi drove to the net from the right side and finished from a pass by Jimmy Vesey just seven seconds into overtime.
Geneve-Servette will face Fribourg-Gotteron in the CHL quarterfinals. The playoff spots for both teams that played on Wednesday had already been secured earlier.
