In the NHL playoffs, an amazing feat – here is the first matchup of the second round
The Philadelphia Flyers advance to the second round of the NHL playoffs. They defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 1-0 with a winning goal scored in the first overtime, advancing in the series with a match score of 4-2.
The sixth game was decided by Flyers defenseman Cam York, who shot from near the blue line to seal the series and send the Penguins on summer vacation. The team’s star goalie Dan Vladar recorded a shutout, stopping as many as 42 shots.
The Flyers won the first three games of the series. However, the Penguins managed to tighten the series by winning the next two games. The Flyers ultimately ended the series in front of their home crowd.
The only Finnish player in the series was Flyers’ Rasmus Ristolainen. He played an impressive 30 minutes and 12 seconds in last night’s game. Ristolainen recorded 1+4 points in the first round over six games.
In the second round of the playoffs, the Flyers will face the Carolina Hurricanes, led by Sebastian Aho, who defeated the Ottawa Senators in the first round with a clean sweep of 4-0.
