Ville Peltonen: departure passes!
Ville Peltonen leaves the head coach position at Geneve-Servette. The club, which reached the semifinals of the Swiss league this season, announced the Finnish coach’s departure on Monday.
Peltonen, 53, was promoted to head coach mid-season after Yorick Treille was fired from his position in October. Geneve-Servette, relying heavily on Finnish expertise, finished third in the Swiss league regular season under Peltonen’s leadership.
Next season, Peltonen will be replaced by Sam Hallam, who has served as the head coach of the Swedish national team for the past few years.
Along with Peltonen, assistant coaches Pekka Kangasalusta and Samuel Tilkanen will also leave the team.
This season, four Finns played in the Geneve-Servette team: Jesse Puljujärvi, Markus Granlund, Sakari Manninen, and Vili Saarijärvi.
