Finnish goalkeeper Juha Jatkola is set to join a new club in Germany. According to the German Eishockey News, the 23-year-old goalie is moving to the DEL league’s promoted team Krefeld Pinguine.

According to the newspaper, Jatkola is expected to become Krefeld’s number one goalie for the upcoming season. However, the club did not comment on the transfer information, so the contract has not yet been confirmed.

Last season, Jatkola represented the Liiga silver medalist KooKoo. He played 25 games in the regular season and recorded a save percentage of just over 90.

KooKoo advanced to the Liiga finals in the spring but lost the championship to Tappara. In the playoffs, the greater share of the goaltending responsibility was carried by Eetu Randelin.

Before KooKoo, Jatkola played for KalPa, where he formed a goalie duo with Stefanos Lekkasin. KalPa won the Finnish championship in the spring of 2025.

If the transfer goes through, it will be Jatkola’s first club outside of Finland. Krefeld has returned to the DEL league for the upcoming season and is looking for a new number one goalie.
