Now it is confirmed – SaiPa received a familiar reinforcement from North America
SaiPa has signed a continuation contract with Czech forward Richard Zemlicka. The new contract runs until the end of the 2026–2027 season.
The 20-year-old Zemlicka arrived at SaiPa from the Czech Republic before the 2023–2024 season. The forward has progressed through the club’s junior organization close to a permanent spot on the senior team and played his first Liiga matches last season. He has also been part of the Czech U18, U19, and U20 national teams.
Last season, Zemlicka started with SaiPa’s U20 team. He recorded 16 points (6+10) in 17 games during the U20 SM series regular season. Additionally, he appeared in two Liiga matches without scoring.
In December 2025, Zemlicka moved to the USHL team Youngstown Phantoms on a contract that lasted for the remainder of the season, where he played in the spring season.
