The Mestis club strengthened its ranks – a familiar master goalkeeper returns
The second-placed IPK in Mestiksessä has made a contract for the remainder of the season with goalkeeper Oskari Parviainen.
Parviainen, 24, already filled in for IPK’s goalkeeper department early in the season, playing one match for the club. He has also played two matches this season in the Czech Republic’s second-highest league for Pirati Chomutov.
Parviainen has represented IPK for the last two seasons as well. He won the Mestis championship with the club in the spring of 2024, while last season ended with a silver medal.
– We had to react in the goalkeeper market when Patrik Kerkola, who was on loan from KalPa, moved to Sport until the transfer deadline, and the timing of Stepan Vopravil’s return is still uncertain. Parviainen has already been filling in for us twice this season, so it was a clear choice for us to call him. It’s great that we get “Ossi” for the rest of the season, commented IPK’s development manager Niko Härkönen in the club’s announcement.
