The Mestis team Imatran Ketterä announces that it has terminated the contract of head coach Janne Tuunanen. Ketterä states that the termination occurred by mutual agreement for sporting reasons and will take effect immediately.
Tuunanen, 44, was in his second season coaching Ketterä. The team is currently sixth in Mestis and has entered a five-game losing streak. Last season, under Tuunanen’s leadership, Ketterä finished third in the regular season but was eliminated in the quarter-finals.
Ketterä’s head coach position will be taken over by long-time assistant coach Teemu Asikainen. He has served as the team’s assistant coach since the 2018-19 season. The current coaching staff will continue in the club as before.
