The Helsinki Jokerit announced on Thursday that they have terminated the player contract of forward Rasmus Lahnaviik. Shortly after this, Kiekko-Vantaa published news about the forward’s transfer to the team on a contract for the remainder of the season.

Lahnaviik has already played eight games for Kiekko-Vantaa during the early part of the season. The forward has scored five goals and collected a total of six points in those games. In the league, he played four games for Jokerit without any points.

– Rasmus has been an effective player in the games he has played during the early part of the season and has shown his added value to our club in other ways as well. We trust him and believe that Kiekko-Vantaa is the best environment for him to develop as a professional hockey player, Anssi Aura commented in the club’s announcement.

Kiekko-Vantaa’s head coach Mikko Heiskanen also welcomed the news with joy.

– It’s great that Lahna chose to return to his home area at this point. A familiar and cheerful guy who brings positive energy to the ice and the locker room.
