MILANO.

France took a beating from Canada in the last match of the Olympic group stage. The Maple Leaf team scored 10-2.

The French team has several players who earn their living in the Finnish League. One of them is Dylan Fabre from Porin Ässät.

– It was quite something. We knew before the game that it would be a tough match. We gave it our all. It’s hard to play against those guys, Fabre said to SuomiKiekko after the game.

An unusual detail was that Ässät also played today.

– What was the final score? Fabre asked SuomiKiekko.

I had to tell him that Ässät lost to SaiPa in overtime 3-4.

– Really? We need to win a few more games before the regular season ends and be ready for the playoffs, Fabre pondered immediately.

We also asked how Fabre compares the Olympic games to League matches.

– Everything happens faster, especially in our defensive zone. If you lose focus for even a moment, your own guy is already gone.

– It’s not quite the same thing to watch those players on TV or to play against them on the ice. On the ice, it’s faster.

What does Fabre plan to tell his teammates about these experiences when he returns to Pori?

– When I go back, I’ll say: “It was amazing to play against these players.” It has been a great experience to play at this level.
